Our Mission

Welcome to the American Indian Mental Health Project, part of the UCLA Center for Research, Education, Training, and Strategic Communication on Minority Health Disparities.

Here you'll find information, training and resources for mental health clinicians, social workers, educators, and others interested in promoting the mental health and wellbeing of Native American populations within the United States, including those Native Americans living in densely populated urban areas.

It is our hope that this website will serve as a resource to enable you to better serve Native Americans, valuing and respecting the diversity of their experiences as a means to promoting health and wellness in these unique people.

Please enjoy this website and utilize it for your clients. We'd also love to hear from you on how we
can improve our resources for mental health and wellness of Native American populations.

Sincerely,

Vickie Mays, PhD, MSPH
