She has received awards recognizing her contributions to the United States Postal Service, and was the recipient of a Congressional Award for Community Service 2001, for her volunteer work with abused children. Because of an interest in improving the delivery of the healthcare to underserved populations, she pursued a Masters Degree in Public Health from the University of California at Los Angeles. It was this same interest that lead to a National Medical Fellowship Award that allowed her to volunteer as a "foot doctor", in Kenya during her medical training. Dr. Height graduated from York College of the City University of New York, and completed her medical school education at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Her internship was completed at the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University, and her residency at USC - LA C in Internal Medicine. She is board eligible in Internal Medicine and Occupational Medicine, and a member of the American College of Physicians, as well as the National Medical Association. Dr. Height is mentor to medical students, and an Assistant Clinical Professor in Internal Medicine at Loma Linda University School of Medicine. She maintains a part-time Internal Medicine practice that includes care of "high-risk", adolescents. Her professional interests include focusing on healthcare policies that will eliminate the disparities in healthcare services to underprivileged children and senior citizens. She enjoys quilting, traveling, remodeling old homes, and spending time with her family.
